
University of Toledo Kobacker Center Renovations

The University of Toledo Kobacker Center renovation is a project to renovate one wing of the current single story adolescent psychiatric building from a former adolescent school into a new 18-bed geriatric psychiatric unit to be privately run for the university. The project was divided into two phases (Demolition – Phase 1 and Finish Construction – Phase 2) to allow for the ambitious 6 month construction completion schedule. Demolition was started while the final finish details were worked out and bid for Phase 2. The new facility includes 12-private and 3-semiprivate patient rooms with restroom/shower rooms, quiet and noisy social spaces, nourishment/ice machine room, central bathing room, laundry, 2-visitor/consult/quiet rooms, multi-purpose/conference room, seclusion room and restroom, nurse’s stations, staff support rooms, and 5-offices.
