ODOT Portage County Full Service Maintenance Facility
Rootstown, Ohio
This project is a new full service maintenance facility (FSMF) for the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 4. The facility is a “green” site outside of Rootstown, Ohio, and includes a 36,686 square feet main building with offices, truck storage, maintenance bays, and wash bay facilities. The main building is a premanufactured metal building with metal wall and roof panels and brick wainscot. Also included is a 11,993 square foot premanufactured fabric structure cold storage building, a 2,551 square foot premanufactured fabric structure material storage building, a brine production system, a dual-sided above ground fuel island, and paving.
This new facility provides modern amenities with the size, security, efficiency, and room to grow that is needed in this district. The new facilities also meet all of ODOT’s current standards and requirements. Many site and building layouts were developed to provide an efficient and cost effective solution while utilizing an existing salt storage facility and minimizing the disturbance of the wetlands in the area.
