Clyde High School Performing Arts Center

Clyde, Ohio

Created as a work of art out of marble chips and inlayed as a part of the terrazzo floor, the masks of comedy and tragedy greet patrons in the lobby of the new Clyde High School Auditorium.  This auditorium, an addition to the high school brings to this small school district a chance for the student body to assemble, seating 831 and to explore educational avenues that the fine arts can offer.  From performing on the stage, to constructing stage sets and backdrops in the scene shop, to performing soundtracks for musicals the students have an opportunity and a choice.

Supporting band and choir rooms complete the addition by providing acoustically refined rooms for instruction, rehearsal and practice.  A music library for the storage of sheet music complements the learning experience, while proper storage for the instruments assures that the value of those instruments will be maintained for years to come.  Community groups and organizations have the opportunity to book events within the space, providing a secondary source of income for the school district.
